Pea soup with Ham Pork

Ingredients

  • carrots medium-sized shaved and cut into small pieces: 6
  • laurel leaves: 2
  • water: 10 cups
  • chopped onions: 2 or 3
  • ham pork: 1
  • peas matches soaked in cold water during 1,30 hours and then drained: 2 cups
  • Salt: taste.
  • Pepper: taste.

Directions

Put the peas, onions, ham, water and bay leaves in a pot. Leave to boil slowly, withdrawing any foam that rise to the surface and then let it simmer until peas are tender (about 1.30 hours). Remove the ham and boning into small pieces. Put the meat in soup and adds at the same time the carrots. Let cook about 20m until everything is tender. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
