  • Horse large pickled: 1 can (125 g)
  • Sweet potato Aljezur: 1 (150 g)
  • Extra virgin olive oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Vinegar: 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic: 2 teeth
  • Flower of salt: taste.


After the opening of the can are dried the mackerel, removing the skin and backbones with the help of water. (This procedure traditional Algarve is called alimar horse mackerel).

Put on the plate or platter small sprinkled with the chopped garlic, and have laterally slices or chunks of sweet potato previously boiled or baked with skin.

Finally, a season-if the horse with vinegar and water the whole with extra virgin olive oil and the flower of salt to taste.
