Proponents of the Banana Diet say it is possible to lose weight 8 kgs in 1 month or up to 18 kgs in 2 months by following this diet. This all without restrictions as to what you eat for lunch or dinner. But does the Banana Diet really work?

How the Banana Diet

The Banana Diet is very easy to follow, there are few rules and no specific menu, only a few rules. See the following:

  • At breakfast, eat 1-4 bananas accompanied by warm water or at room temperature
  • Do not eat anything until lunch time
  • Lunch and dinner usually eat
  • Afternoon snack released
  • The dinner must be made by 8 pm and after dinner, nothing else should be consumed until the time you go to bed
  • Sleep before midnight

But this diet works?

The banana is a fruit rich in fiber, both soluble and insoluble. The fiber in bananas prolong the feeling of fullness, causing the person to eat less naturally. Resistant starch, a type of fiber that bananas contain, when digested produces substances that can increase the body's ability to burn fat and also decrease the accumulation of it in the body.

A banana is far from being considered a high-calorie food, it can be between 60 to 180 calories depending on the size. The golden banana is the most caloric, with about 125 calories. Other dwarf bananas as silver and contains around 90 calories.
